Google Ads for Kitchen Remodelers
Kitchen remodeling clients rarely hire the first company they click. They browse photos, compare quotes, bring a spouse to the showroom, and think about budget for a while. Netembark builds Google Ads campaigns for kitchen remodelers that pay for the searches that lead to design consultations, filter out cabinet shoppers and DIYers, and track every lead through to the signed contract.
How do kitchen remodelers get qualified leads from Google Ads?
Bid on searches that signal a real project, send them to pages that show your work and process, and measure success by booked design consultations and signed contracts, not form fills.
The real conversion for most remodelers is the design consultation, in-home measure, or showroom appointment. That’s the first point where you know the homeowner is serious, the budget is roughly realistic, and the decision-makers are involved. We set that up as the main conversion, with “proposal delivered” and “contract signed” (with value) imported later so bidding learns which consultations close.

Which kitchen remodeling searches are worth bidding on?
Full-remodel and design-build searches with a location are the core. Partial-scope and cost searches are worth bidding on in their own ad groups. Pure inspiration searches usually aren’t.
| Search pattern (illustrative, not volume data) | Typical stage | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| “kitchen remodeling contractor near me” | Ready to compare | Core campaign, exact and phrase match, highest bids |
| “design build kitchen remodel near me” | Ready to compare, higher budget | Core campaign; landing page leads with the design process |
| “kitchen cabinet refacing near me” | Defined, smaller scope | Separate ad group and budget, only if the client does refacing |
| “quartz countertop installation” | Defined, smaller scope | Separate ad group, or negative if the client only does full remodels |
| “kitchen remodel cost” / “cost to remodel a 10×12 kitchen” | Planning | Lower bids; cost-guide landing page; judged over a longer window |
| “small kitchen remodel ideas” | Inspiration | Usually excluded from ads; better served by SEO content and the portfolio |
Full remodel and design-build searches
These are the money searches. The ad should say what kind of remodeler you are (design-build, full-service, cabinet-to-countertop), where you work, and what happens next (“Book an in-home design consultation”). If the client has a showroom, location assets help.
Partial-scope searches: refacing, countertops, cabinets installed
Refacing, countertop replacement, and “new cabinets installed” are real jobs with different economics. Keeping them in separate ad groups with their own budget stops a flood of smaller leads from crowding out full remodels in the reporting and in bidding.
Cost and size searches
When someone searches for a kitchen’s dimensions or square footage plus “cost,” they’re planning. A page with the client’s honest ranges and what drives cost (layout changes, cabinet grade, appliances, permits) builds trust and earns the consultation later.
Inspiration searches (usually not)
“Kitchen ideas,” “white kitchen with island,” and similar browsing searches are crowded with publishers and image boards. We leave them out of paid search unless the client has a specific reason to want them.

How do you keep cabinet and countertop shoppers out of your ads?
Use negatives for retail cabinet brands and stores, product-only phrases, DIY terms, and job-seeker terms, and review the search terms report weekly. Remodelers attract more product shoppers than almost any other trade.
Kitchen-specific starter negatives (adjust to what the client actually sells):
- Retail and big-box: home depot, lowes, lowe’s, ikea, menards, costco, wayfair
- Product-only: rta cabinets, cabinets for sale, cabinet doors only, cabinet hardware, knobs, pulls, kitchen faucet, sink only, countertop slab for sale, remnants
- DIY: diy, how to, paint cabinets yourself, peel and stick backsplash, kitchen planner app
- Jobs: cabinet installer jobs, kitchen designer jobs, salary, hiring
- Other: kitchen equipment (restaurant), commercial kitchen rental, kitchen rental
If the client is a dealer for a cabinet line, brand searches can be worth bidding on. Google doesn’t restrict trademarks used as keywords, but using another company’s trademark in ad text is restricted for competitors (Trademarks policy). Confirm dealer authorization before naming a brand in the ad.

Can kitchen remodelers use Local Services Ads?
In many US markets, yes. Google lists Kitchen remodeling as its own Local Services Ads category, with business and owner checks, general and professional liability insurance, and state-level licenses where applicable.
Google’s Local Services category list includes Kitchen remodeling, separate from General contractor and Countertop services. Google’s US screening requirements for the category list a business check, an owner check, general liability and professional liability insurance, and state-level business and owner licenses where required. LSA leads are calls and messages, and Google says you pay only for leads related to your business. Availability and the job types you can select vary by market.
LSA works well as a second channel for “kitchen remodeler near me” searches. Search ads still carry the work LSA can’t target precisely, like design-build positioning, refacing, specific cabinet lines, and cost-guide traffic.
Netembark manages Local Services Ads alongside Search: onboarding and screening paperwork, business profile, job types and service areas, budget, reviewing leads and sending lead feedback, review requests, and pausing when the schedule is full. LSA and Search leads are reported side by side, and we check for the same homeowner showing up in both.
How should kitchen remodelers track consultations and signed contracts?
Track calls and forms as leads, then import “consultation booked,” “proposal delivered,” and “contract signed” (with contract value) back to Google Ads. Set the conversion window long enough to cover your typical time from click to contract.
- Capture the click ID (GCLID) in a hidden form field and keep it with the lead in the CRM.
- Upload each stage as its own conversion action through offline conversion import, or use enhanced conversions for leads to match by hashed email or phone.
- Netembark imports booked estimates and won jobs into Google Ads as offline conversions (offline conversion imports), so bidding learns from real outcomes, not just leads.
- Kitchen cycles can be long. Google’s conversion windows go up to 90 days depending on the source. Contracts signed after that won’t attribute, so “consultation booked” matters as an earlier signal.
- Track calls from ads and the website with call conversion tracking and a minimum call length.
Once contract values flow back, bidding can favor the searches that produce full remodels over the ones that produce countertop-only quotes.

How should kitchen remodelers talk about price and financing in ads?
Lead with the project, keep financing claims general unless every required disclosure is on hand, and make sure any promotion in the ad is live on the landing page.
- “Financing available” is lower-risk ad copy than a monthly payment. Under Regulation Z §1026.24, terms like a payment amount or number of payments trigger extra disclosures, including the APR.
- Ads that are mostly about credit can be labeled under Google’s Consumer finance rules, which limit demographic and ZIP code targeting in the US and Canada.
- Seasonal promotions (“free upgrade with signed contract by…”) must be real and current (Misrepresentation).

What does a kitchen remodeling landing page need?
Real project photos, a clear process, proof of licensing and insurance, and one obvious next step: book a design consultation.
- Before-and-after photos of the client’s own projects (no stock kitchens presented as their work)
- The process in a few steps: consultation, design, selections, build, walkthrough
- License number and insurance statement where the state requires or the client wants them shown
- A short form with qualifying questions: scope (full remodel, refacing, countertops), timeline, own or rent, rough budget range
- Click-to-call and showroom address if there is one
We build these with our web design team or adapt the client’s existing pages.
When do kitchen remodeling leads come in?
It depends on the market and the client. Plan from the client’s own lead history, not industry rules of thumb.
Many remodelers hear that homeowners want projects done before holidays or family events, which pushes inquiries earlier in the year. Treat that as a hypothesis to check in two years of lead data, then shift budget with it. Google’s seasonality adjustments are for short events like a 3-day showroom sale, not for a whole season.

Frequently asked questions
How do kitchen remodelers get more qualified leads from Google Ads?
Bid on full-remodel and design-build searches in your service area using exact and phrase match, keep refacing and countertop work in separate ad groups, block retail cabinet and DIY searches, and import booked design consultations and signed contracts as conversions so bidding learns which clicks become real projects.
Can kitchen remodelers use Google Local Services Ads?
In many US markets, yes. Google lists Kitchen remodeling as its own Local Services Ads category. Screening includes business and owner checks, general and professional liability insurance, and state-level licenses where required. Availability and job types vary by market, so check Google’s eligibility tool for your service area. Netembark manages Local Services Ads alongside Search campaigns.
What negative keywords should a kitchen remodeler use?
Start with big-box and retail names like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and IKEA; product-only terms like RTA cabinets, cabinet hardware, and countertop remnants; DIY terms like peel and stick backsplash; job-seeker terms; and commercial kitchen rental. Adjust the list to what the remodeler actually sells and review search terms weekly.
Should kitchen remodelers bid on kitchen cost searches?
Usually yes, at lower bids and in their own ad group. Cost and dimension searches come from homeowners planning a real project. Send them to a page with honest ranges and what drives cost, and judge them on booked consultations over a longer window than ready-to-hire searches.
Can kitchen remodelers advertise financing in Google Ads?
Yes, if the financing is real. Ad copy like financing available is lower risk than a monthly payment, which can trigger federal credit-advertising disclosures such as the APR. Ads focused mainly on credit can also be labeled under Google’s consumer finance rules, which limit demographic and ZIP code targeting.
How long does it take to see if kitchen remodeling ads are working?
Calls and consultation bookings show up within days, but signed contracts can take weeks. Track consultations booked as an early conversion, import signed contracts with their value when they close, and set conversion windows long enough to cover the typical time from click to contract, up to Google’s 90-day limit.
